Your First Character
Loreden gives you two ways to add a character: you can build one from scratch, or pull one in automatically from PathCompanion.
Option A — Create a character manually
- From your dashboard, click New Character
- Give your character a name and hit Create
- You'll land on the character sheet editor, where you can fill in everything — stats, skills, background, personality, and more
You don't need to fill everything in at once. Save as you go and come back to add more whenever you like.
Loreden gives you a full Pathfinder stat block — ability scores, AC, HP, saves, BAB, skills, feats, spells, and weapons — plus a rich set of roleplay fields: personality, appearance, backstory, beliefs, fears, speech patterns, and more.
Option B — Import from PathCompanion
If you already manage your character in PathCompanion, you can link it to Loreden and have your stats sync automatically.
- From the New Character screen, choose Import from PathCompanion
- Open PathCompanion and find your character's character key
- Paste the key into Loreden and click Import
Loreden will pull in your full stat block immediately. From then on, you can re-sync at any time to pick up level-ups or gear changes.
→ See the full PathCompanion Sync guide for step-by-step instructions.
Finding your way around the character sheet
Once your character is created, you'll find their sheet organised into tabs:
| Tab | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Stats | Ability scores, HP, AC, initiative, and combat values |
| Skills | Full skill list with modifiers and class skill markers |
| Combat | Weapons, attacks, armour, and CMB/CMD |
| Spells | Prepared and known spells, organised by level |
| Bio | Backstory, personality, appearance, relationships, and more |
| Notes | Free-form personal notes |
Your character code
Every character automatically gets a character code — a short WRD-XXXX identifier that looks something like WRD-4B2A. You can find it on your character's profile page.
Character codes let anyone look up your character on Loreden without you needing to share a link. They're handy for Discord servers where people want to link characters to each other.
